Mud!

The boys LOVED playing in the mud! Up until recently I haven't wanted them to get really dirty. (I'm mot a fan of messes!) HOWEVER, now that they both have mud boots and are ALWAYS drawn to the puddles anyway, I've given in. I'm allowing then to splash and play to their hearts content. It's kind of nice, I just let them do it and they REALLY enjoy it! I'm really enjoying taking pictures of their FUN too!

JUMP!

Then the next day I let them play in the mud AGAIN! : )

Dempsey was showing Pierce how to find cool rocks!

He's a quick study!

I love this shot with his reflection in the water! Such a sweet boy!

Wonder what he's thinking?!?!

Probably thinking about finding another cool rock!

What a handsome young man Dempsey is becoming!

I'm so glad I let go of my need to stay clean. These moments are priceless!

Happy New Years!

We spent New Years Eve at home with the kids this year. Dempsey and hubby really enjoyed lighting off the bag of fireworks that they had found tucked away and all but forgotten since the 4th of July.

Even though Pierce was a trooper and surprisingly not afraid, I don't think he was really enjoying the festivities as much!

Then today we had a great time at the Seattle Aquarium. Sadly I realized I had forgotten my camera just as we were finding a parking space. (HOWEVER, I already know 2010 is going to be a great year. As I went to feed the meter I read a little sign that said parking was free on New Year's Day!!! Yippee) Dempsey LOVED the fish and the otters. Pierce was really excited to have wide open spaces to run around in. He took off chasing all the other families...it was pretty cute! It was a great time together as a family...something I'd been wanting to do for quite a while now! YAY for 2010!

Pierce's 1st Birthday Party!

We had a great time with close family and a couple of friends!

Pierce Eating his Cup-Cake! Mmmmm He was pretty funny...at first I think he was a bit frustrated with the mess! Then once he realized how yummy it was, he was cool!

Dempsey of course LOVED the Cup-Cakes!!!

Our friend Julia also enjoyed the cup-cakes! AND showing off her pearly whites for the camera! What a pretty girl!

Pierce is so curious about what's in there!

Nannie made Pierce these CUTE little houses out of boxes! Just what we were hoping for! The boys (including hubby) have been having a great time with them!

Dempsey is pretty curious too!

There she is...TICKLE OH-MA!!!

After playing indoors we ventured out for a great walk on "Nannie's Trails" as Dempsey calls them! : )

What a great dad with his boys!

Nannie, Alaina, and Julia enjoying the beautiful day too!

Then back indoors for presents and a chance to wind down!

Nannie watching as we opened Pierces presents.

Alaina and Julia  (I love this Picture!)

Pierce LOVED the bows on the presents

What a FUN day for a great little 1 YEAR OLD!
It's amazing how the past 12 months have passed so quickly!

OH - And at the end of the party....I came in from saying goodbye to a friend and my mom and hubby said..."Pierce just took a few steps!" WOO HOO! He did it again for me as proof!
I'm so proud of you Pierce!!!
Here's to many many more fun parties to celebrate how much we love you!
