Our NEW (old) Garden Shed!

We were very fortunate to get this shed from my hubby's uncle. I know right off the bat it doesn't look like much but it's absolutely perfect! We're so blessed! There's so much potential and it's going to solve some of the storage problems we've been having! : ) We've known for a long time that we wanted a shed. We just haven't made the time or finalized any decisions to actually get to it! This will allow us to take the bones and customize it to be just how we want it! Hope you enjoy watching the transformation as much as we enjoy the process!

Delivery! YAY Thanks Uncle Bruce! You're the BEST!

We graded out the area a bit and took the shed off it's skids.

The view of the shed and garden from our bedroom window.
(I can't wait to see this area with lush grass and beautiful colorful flowers!)

We added a bit of rock to the front entry (Hubby was pretty proud of this idea.) He thinks it's going to save us from having a muddy mess! We pressure washed all the moss and yuck off the walls and roof and proceeded to take out the front window! (I LOVE me some power tools and a crow bar!) I was also glad hubby brought over the generator...it's a long ways back and forth to the garage after the 50th time! : )

Meanwhile our little trooper kids (runny noses and all!) Waited outside and enjoyed a healthy dose of SUGAR via granola bar! Thank goodness for the safety of the picnic table and the distraction of FOOD! Mmmm

Pierce also discovered the moon and added the word to his vocabulary! It's so cute how he says it too!

AND after a bit of measuring, and sawing, and pounding and screwing later! Our new window is IN! (We bought this window over 4 years ago for $23. I've been waiting for this day to come!) It lets in so much light! Woo hoo!  Don't worry I know it looks a bit funny now but trust me...in the end it's going to be BEAUTIFUL! Luckily for me, I've always been able to see the "potential" in old or funky things!

That's it for now! Check back for more updates as we paint, add shelving, and repair more walls! After some discussion with hubby we've also decided to convert the back few feet into a chicken coop! I'm so excited! I've been talking to my SIL about chickens for quite some time now! She's getting her coop going and she's inspired me to come up with a way to make ours too!

Trains!

This weekend we went to see one of hubby's friends and his miniature trains. These trains and the track that they've constructed are amazing! The boys loved riding on it and hubby enjoyed being conductor. Me, I really enjoyed looking at and learning about all the plants around their land!

The Train!

Hubby as Conductor!

The amazing bridge and pond. I think my father in law actually helped dig this pond years ago!

The tunnel. It's pretty dark in there! Dempsey was squealing with delight!

The view from above. Such an amazing place!

Mud!

The boys LOVED playing in the mud! Up until recently I haven't wanted them to get really dirty. (I'm mot a fan of messes!) HOWEVER, now that they both have mud boots and are ALWAYS drawn to the puddles anyway, I've given in. I'm allowing then to splash and play to their hearts content. It's kind of nice, I just let them do it and they REALLY enjoy it! I'm really enjoying taking pictures of their FUN too!

JUMP!

Then the next day I let them play in the mud AGAIN! : )

Dempsey was showing Pierce how to find cool rocks!

He's a quick study!

I love this shot with his reflection in the water! Such a sweet boy!

Wonder what he's thinking?!?!

Probably thinking about finding another cool rock!

What a handsome young man Dempsey is becoming!

I'm so glad I let go of my need to stay clean. These moments are priceless!
